Tutorials people can actually follow

In a tutorial, the hardest part for viewers is seeing where you clicked. Reframe zooms in on each step and shows your shortcuts, so they can follow along at full speed.

Why Reframe for tutorials

How to record tutorials with Reframe

  1. Open the app or site you’re teaching in a Chrome tab.
  2. Click the Reframe icon, turn on your microphone (and camera if you like) and press Record.
  3. Talk through each step as you click. Pause between sections with Ctrl+Shift+U.
  4. In the editor, speed up the waiting, check the zooms and turn on Show keys.
  5. Export as MP4 for your course, help centre or YouTube.

Tips

  • Keep each video to one task; several short tutorials are easier to follow than one long one.
  • Zoom speed and style are in the editor’s Look tab if the defaults feel too fast for beginners.
  • Export a GIF (up to 30 seconds) for a quick how-to inside documentation.

Questions

Does tab audio get recorded?

Yes. When you record a tab, its sound is recorded too, along with your microphone if you turn it on.

Can I record a desktop app?

Yes: choose Window or Screen. Automatic zooms come from clicks in browser tabs, so for apps you add zooms yourself in the editor with Z.
